UPDATE The Receiver’s Petition for Order Approving Liquidation Plan was approved March 8, 2017, in the Arizona Superior Court in Maricopa County with The Honorable Daniel Martin. The order established a proof of claim process that includes a claims bar deadline for non-providers and a temporary restraining order.

TEMPORARY RESTRAINING ORDER

The temporary restraining order prohibits any provider of medical services from recovering balances due from Meritus enrollees. The restraining order will remain in full force and effect unless or until Meritus has provided the Providers office with a new Explanation of Benefits.  The Explanation of Benefits will be provided over the next few months. Until the Provider receives that Explanation of Benefits, they must cease all efforts to collect from Meritus enrollees.  This includes efforts by collection agencies or anyone else acting on their behalf.

PROOF OF CLAIM PROCESS

PROVIDERS- If you have already submitted your claims to Meritus, no further action is required at this time. Providers are NOT required to use the Proof of Claims Form to submit a claim and are not subject to the claims bar deadline.  You will receive a Proof of Claim packet that will include your inventory of outstanding claims on file including the outcome of any appeals.  The packet will also explain the procedure and timeline for you to reconcile your Meritus accounts with the Receiver.

NON-PROVIDERSThe court established May 15, 2017 as the proof of claims bar deadline. Any and all persons (other than providers) with claims against Meritus Mutual and/or Meritus Health Partners shall file the Proof of Claims form on or before May 15, 2017 or such claims shall be forever barred.
